A Unique Great Banyan Tree - Almost 250 Years Old - Howrah.

I went to Howrah along with mom and dad in 2012 for my  tonsuring ceremony. After the tonsuring ceremony was completed it was time to explore one of the main city of India that is Howrah, West Bangal were I came across this unique “The Great Banyan Tree” The Great Banyan Tree is located in botanical Garden in Howrah that is known by the name of Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Botanical Garden. The gardens were founded in 1787 by Colonel Robert Kyd, an army officer of the British East India Company, primarily for the purpose of identifying new plants of commercial value, such as teak, and growing spices for trade. This Banyan tree is said to be 250 year old. When you see this tree from a distance it appears just like a forest however once you step into its shade and see the connection of branches that you realize it is one tree.  The area occupied by the tree is about 18,918 square meters (about 1.89  hectares  or 4.67 acres) . Gilbert Hill - 66 Million Years Old Hidden Historical Monument in Mumbai, India.

Millions of people travel daily to Dream city of India, Mumbai but I am sure people hardly know that Mumbai has a unique volcanic structure in Andheri which is known as Gilbert Hill.  Gilbert Hill is a 200 ft (61 m) monolith column of black basalt rock at Andheri, Mumbai India  The rock has a sheer vertical face and was formed when molten lava was squeezed out of the Earth's clefts during the Mesozoic Era which is about 66 million years ago.  The man who studied and codified this was by American geologist G K Gilbert, in whose honor the hill in Mumbai is name. In 1952, Gilbert hill was declared a monument of national importance by the Geological Survey of India. Gilbert Hill is encroached by buildings and slums. it has a staircase which will take you on Top of hill where you will find Gaondevi temple. 6 Indian Women Navy Officers on the Way to first Circumnavigation of the globe.

History is created by the inception of India’s ever first Circumnavigation of the globe which is done by team of women officers of the Indian Navy on an Indian-built sail boat  INSV Tarini and the project name is Navika Sagar Parikrama INSV Tarini is a 55-foot sailing vessel which has been built indigenously by Aquarius Shipyard, Goa , and was inducted in the Indian Navy earlier 2017, thus showcasing the ‘Make in India’ initiative on the World forum. INSV Tarini is being skippered by Lt. Commander Vartika Joshi, and the crew comprises Lt. Commander Pratibha Jamwal, Lt. Commander P Swathi, Lieutenant S Vijaya Devi, Lieutenant B Aishwarya and Lieutenant Payal Gupta. The expedition was flagged off by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman  in Goa on September 10, 2017, Their Journey would cover the expedition in five legs with stop-overs at four ports (Fremantle, Australia;  Lyttleton, New Zealand;  Port Stanley, the Falklands; and Cape town, South Africa) before returning to
